A series of strange disappearances have occurred in the Midwestern United States, in a city called Raccoon City. A specialized team of law enforcement officers known as STARS investigates, determining that the pharmaceutical company Umbrella and its bioweapon, the T-Virus, are to blame for the incident that caused several members to disappear. Jill Valentine and the other STARS survivors attempt to spread the truth, but find that the police department itself is under Umbrella's control and their reports are dismissed. However, reports of gruesome cannibalism soon surface, and rabid dogs begin to roam the streets. With evil spreading throughout the city, Jill is determined to survive. Unbeknownst to Jill, however, an extremely powerful tracker has already been sent to eliminate her.

Resident Evil 3 is set during the outbreak of the T-virus, a bioweapon developed by the pharmaceutical company Umbrella Corporation. The game marks the debut of Nemesis – a towering humanoid bioweapon possessing both unparalleled brutality and high intelligence – whose dogged pursuit of STARS member Jill Valentine has made him an icon of the Resident Evil™ series. Armed with an arsenal of devastating weaponry and cloaked in a black suit to hide his mutilated features, Nemesis will mangle, pulverize or destroy anything that stands between him and his target. Jill’s harrowing escape takes place in the panicked hours before and after the events of Resident Evil 2. Rounding out the exhilarating single player campaign is Resident Evil Resistance, an asymmetrical 4-versus-1 multiplayer game: as a behind-the-scenes Mastermind, players will take on the roles of key characters from the Resident Evil saga, such as Annette Birkin, and indulge in deadly experiments.
